Robyn Colton

Robyn Colton is a Melbourne-based abstract artist and designer whose work explores creative freedom, movement and emotion.

Her practice is intuitive and layered, each piece unfolding slowly through intuition rather than planning. There’s no fixed outcome at the beginning. Instead, the canvas becomes a space to let creativity, colours and intuition lead.

Working primarily in abstract form, Robyn builds depth through texture and tone, allowing colour to guide the energy of each piece. The works carry warmth and presence to create pieces that are expressive, imperfect, human.

Music often anchors the piece in time, with lyrics and song titles subtly woven into the names of her pieces, timestamps of where she was when the work came to life.

Each painting becomes both expression and memory that is personal, yet open for the viewer to find their own meaning within it.
